Fresh off of her 3 time Academy Award nominated film “Hidden Figures”, Taraji P. Henson is ready to start her next movie. The film, “Best of Enemies” has released a new extras casting call. Child, teen and adult actors are needed for several different roles. Filming will be in Atlanta, Georgia. Casting directors are looking for actors and models to portray members of the brotherhood, high school cheerleaders, school students and church congregation and townsfolk.

About the Movie

The film is based on the incredible true story of Ann Atwater and C.P. Ellis. Henson will play Atwater, the ferocious civil rights activist in Durham, North Carolina. She had a decade-long battle with sworn enemy C.P. Ellis, the Exalted Cyclops of Durham’s Ku Klux Klan. Their feud came to an abrupt and unlikely end in 1971. After a court-ordered school desegregation decree threw the Southern city into turmoil, Atwater and Ellis reluctantly agreed to co-chair an intensive, two week community meeting to try to reach a compromise. We are NOT seeking actual members of the Ku Klux Klan and as with any set, we hold a zero tolerance policy against racism, sexism, etc.! We are seeking actors, not pro-white activists. The majority of the Klan scenes involve a group of men at the local meeting hall. This is a time when the Klan was an accepted part of society and a supporter of the pro-segregation movement. Many prominent members of society were Klansmen, including city councilmembers, church deacons, police officers, even the local postman – as such, you can be used in more than just the Klan scenes and can also appear as regular, everyday townspeople. Seeking Caucasian Males, Ages 18 and up – we are accepting all looks, but a majority of you should appear to be clean cut, upstanding, church going folks and family men.

Additonally, we are seeking a younger group of males to portray the Klan’s Youth Corps. You should be over the age of 18, but can appear to be 16 or 17 years old. The Youth Corps will be present at the Klan meeting hall, and will be featured in a separate scene at a youth training camp, so you should be physically fit and willing to do some exercise on camera. Looking for young women who are 18 years or older that appear to be 15 to 17 years old or younger. Actors will be riding a float in a parade featured in the beginning of the film. You don’t have to have any experience as a cheerleader, but if you are a former or current cheerleader, please list your experience in your submission. You should have natural hair, no highlights or unusual colors.
