Casting Call for Men & Women for Film in New York City
There is a new casting call for a black and white art film that is being directed by Lorenzo Durantini that will be exhibited in Europe as part of a touring film exhibition. It is a no budget project, but full credits and professional studio headshots will be offered to selected actors for their participation. The auditions as well as the headshot photo shoot will be held at the director’s studio in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The casting team is looking for a male and female actor of any ethnicity to appear in the movie.
About the Film
Two quirky intellectual friends take a break from sunbathing in Fort Tilden to go explore the ruins of military buildings damaged by Hurricane Sandy. They talk casually about radical philosophy and ideas like post-work society and fully automated luxury communism while exploring the sand invaded buildings. They wonder what purpose there is in work when history can so easily prove their efforts to be in vain, just like the forts that used to defend the country with nuclear missiles are now little more than tourist attractions. Their playful banter becomes flirtatious are they try to outdo one another with outlandish ideas of how to fix the world before it’s too late.
They stop atop the largest bunker to share a joint and giggly noncommittal embraces, teasing one another while they stare into the crashing waves and faraway Manhattan skyline. They begin to ask themselves what future love has is a society so blindly focused on productivity and career building. Anti-conformist to the core they both begin to speculate on what the future has in store, only to realize that the very idea of the future for their generation is gone. Their stomachs rumbling and hearts aloof, they ramble off down the boardwalk until they’re confronted with a decision that will change their friendship forever. The movie is set in the former military base of Fort Tilden, now a popular beachfront in the Rockaways, New York.

Male: slim to medium build, any ethnicity, bookish academic type, striking features, tending towards pessimism, symbolic and evasive, tortured yet determined. Must be comfortable in a bathing suit.
Female: slim to medium build, any ethnicity, entrepreneurial hard working type, creative but corporate, outspoken, matter-of-fact, strong. Must be comfortable in a bathing suit.
