New Short Stories Film Auditioning Kids To Fill 20 Roles
Casting directors are holding auditions for children for the project “HIS DESIGNS: Stories on the Extraordinary Life of Solanus Casey”. They are casting 20 children (10 boys, 10 girls), ages 8-12 of mixed ethnicities to help tell ten short stories about Capuchin friar Solanus Casey, Detroit’s “Miracle Worker.” Ten of the children we cast will narrate the stories (on camera), and ten children will expertly color an oversize “adult” coloring book image of the story that will be shot in time lapse video.
About The Film:
Although the stories are about a Catholic friar, children need not be Catholic or even Christian to be cast. We need articulate (even precocious children) to narrate, and precise, detailed “artists” to color the images. They are particularly looking for children of African and Indian decent to round out the cast.
This is a non-union, no-pay opportunity with some material and experience benefits working with a professional crew. Shooting will occur April 4-8, 2016 at the Solanus Casey Center auditorium in Detroit. Each child will be required for about 4 hours on only one day to be scheduled. Completed videos will be distributed on-line, on DVD, and be aired on Catholic television and radio networks.
