Casting Call for Amazon Movie “Wonderstruck” in New York City
Oscar winning actress Julianne Moore is teaming up with Academy Award nominee Michelle Williams for the new film “Wonderstruck”. Casting directors are looking for non-union men and women to play down and out types in the movie that is filming in New York City.
About the Movie
The Amazon original is based on the book Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick. According to the author’s website, the book is about a boy named who Ben longs for the father he has never known and a girl named Rose dreams of a mysterious actress whose life she chronicles in a scrapbook. When Ben discovers a puzzling clue in his mother’s room, and Rose reads an enticing headline in the newspaper, both children set out alone on desperate quests to find what they are missing. Ben’s story, set in 1977, is told entirely with words, while Rose’s story, set fifty years earlier, is told entirely with pictures. The two stories weave back and forth before ultimately coming together.

Casting directors are seeking non-union men and women who are ages 18 to 80 years old for several roles in the Amazon film that is being directed by Todd Haynes.

Work date is Saturday, May 28th.

This scene will be Exterior Summer Season! You will be in short sleeves, shorts, tank tops, skirts, etc.
Seeking slender bodies. Men and women with little or no tattoos. This scene takes place in 1977 and will require women who are mostly pretty slender with hair all different lengths but no longer than mid-chest length. Dyed & highlighted hair is fine but no bright unnatural colors (blue, pink, purple, green, etc). Men must have some length to their hair. No crew cuts, shaved heads, etc.
